Micromax Canvas 5

Ever since Micromax has started it reign in Indian markets, it eventually became one of the top smartphone sellers in the country. It owed its success to the high end features it offered in the most affordable price ranges. The Canvas series is one of the most successful products by the company and as it launched a latest entrant in the series on Wednesday, it expects to make its hold further strong in the Indian market.

The successor to Canvas 4, Micromax Canvas 5 is officially here. The last one in the series was launched about 2 years back and it is about the time when the company came up with its worthy follow-up. Priced at Rs. 11,999, the phone will be available for sales in the markets across the country.

As it happens to be the case, Micromax has laced the phone with some high end features which are, for the most part, similar to the ones we saw previously with Canvas 4. But the inclusion of some additional features this time around such as a more powerful processor, a bigger battery, more Ram and better display is expected to take the brand to new heights. The things that will remain unchanged are the front and the rear camera sensors while some more camera features have been added this time around.

Canvas 5 is a dual sim smartphone which runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop but the company has said that an update will be happening soon in the platform when the next generation Android 6.0 Marshmallow gets out in the market. The smartphone comes with a massive 5.2 inch (1080 X 1920 pixels) full HD IPS display and 2.5D curved touch panel along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating over it.

With 16 GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32 GB) and 3 GB of Ram, Canvas 5 is well ahead of the previous one in the series. The rear camera is a 13-megapixel one with LED flash while the front camera is 5-megapixeled; the quality however, is invincible.
